Anthony Schrag – Cupar Justice

A film documenting artist Anthony Schrag’s performance for the 2013 Cupar Art Festival. It explores the closure of the Sheriff Court in the town by alluding to a medieval practice of Cupar Justice, where a mob would pour water into a jail in order to drown a supposed criminal, and then take the body to court so that he/she could not defend him/herself. It also referenced Lord of The Flies, being a story about how a society copes without justice and law.
